PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES
You can join our residents in various activities like music, games, exercise, and group studies.


EVENTS & ENTERTAINMENT
Entertain residents with your musical talents, present a slideshow from your travels, lead yoga or group dances.

INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT
We also welcome individuals who would like to spend quality one-on-one time with our residents doing activities such as reading, writing, going for walks, playing board games and more.

We're always actively recruiting residential volunteers to spend time with and care for our wonderful community members. 

Overview
Our live-in volunteers reside in the community and participate in elder care work and the cultural/festival life. We welcome gap volunteers. This position requires at least twelve months commitment.

Requirements
The ideal candidate must be comfortable with elders and caring for them. Interest in sharing life and work with a diverse group of people is important.

Expectations
At Camphill Ghent, volunteers assist elders with activities of daily living including personal care, helping at meal times, cleaning, companionship and conversation, celebrations, and land work. Some of our elders are individuals with developmental disabilities, and the average age in our community is 80 years old.

What we Provide
A private room, a monthly stipend, and regular days off will be provided. First-year volunteers are not offered health insurance. Volunteers with Camphill experience and a commitment of three years will receive insurance benefits.

Additional Information:
Volunteers will work alongside long-term coworkers and staff and are required to attend a State mandated training as well as annual trainings.
