Nadja was raised in a Parisian suburb, and spent five years working at the Perceval Waldorf school in Switzerland before coming to Camphill Village Copake in 2000 with her husband Marc and a one-year-old son. The couple has raised their three wonderful children in Camphill Village.
Nadja has two brothers with special needs, and was already well acquainted with the Camphill Movement before arriving, having attended many celebrations and festivals. Nadja has always been a dedicated homemaker in Camphill Village, working to create a warm and welcoming space and finding great satisfaction in preparing wholesome meals each day. Life in Camphill Village is not always harmonious, of course, and Bible evenings in the Village are some of the most peaceful moments in the home.
“You clean the house for Bible evening, you have changed your flowers, and you have Bible evening,” she said. “Our Saturday Bible evening is actually a listening space where people say a positive thing from their week and we figure out what was special.”
Nadja enjoys continuing her education in Camphill; she has performed therapeutic oil emersion baths for our community members, and also completed her five-year curative eurythmy training, as well as two years of training in Spring Valley, NY. “I have a love for eurythmy and I make it part of my life,” she said. Nadja is also involved in the Camphill Academy, where she instructs students in puppetry.
Nadja became a member of the Village Focus Group in the summer of 2024.
