Kristina was born and raised in the Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania where she enjoyed long walks along the river and began writing poems about nature. Since grade school, she has been an avid singer, joining any choruses available in her midst. She graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor’s Degree in both English and Geography and then decided to go west for a few years to hike in The Rocky Mountains. It was there she heard of Camphill, moved back east to The Camphill Special School, and began her journey as a Camphill Lady.

After one year at The Camphill School in Pennsylvania, Kristina moved to Perceval, a Camphill Community in Switzerland, where she remained for three years. Then she and her young daughter moved to Camphill Copake. 

Kristina completed the social therapy program offered through the Camphill Academy and entered into a long period of work which included householding, teaching poetry in The Academy, joining the The Copake Circle and other committees, and furthering advocacy efforts on behalf of Camphill Copake. She remained in The Village for around 15 years.

Seven years ago, she and her family moved to Camphill Ghent where Kristina has had the joy of launching meaningful activities with and for the elders who reside there. She is also a resident coworker and helps maintain the mission as a Camphill Community which supports elders. She currently continues to love singing in The Camphill Ghent Choir, leads a weekly poetry session, and is at the helm of interfaith work both in her Camphill Ghent Community and in the neighborhood. She looks forward to bringing her decades of Camphill experience to fruition as she takes up her work on the board.
